Root tip surgery, which is performed to treat infections in the root of the tooth, is generally preferred in cases where the infection in the tooth cannot be successfully removed with root canal treatment or cannot be resolved with different treatments.
During the application, the gingival tissue is removed and the infected parts around the tooth root are removed. Root tip surgery is carried out under local anesthesia.
The procedure, performed under local anesthesia, usually takes 30 minutes. After a small incision on the gums, the relevant tissue is reached and the area is cleaned. After the stitching it is closed.
